Rues launched a destination development and marketing project of “The Real Florida“ promoting Nature and Heritage Tourism of Central Florida on the international market scenario, starting with Florida’s Space Coast –Brevard County- in 2000: The number of foreign visitors to “Florida’s Off the Beaten Path” increased five fold, between 2001 to 2006.
